[/color][color=#990000]Match-fixing claims hit Afcon AFCON2013 tournament has been hit by allegations of match-fixing. The Ghana Football Association has moved to dismiss as untrue allegations that they attempted to fix an Africa Cup of Nations Group B tie against Niger. Ghana defeated Niger 3-0 last Monday to advance to the quarterfinals of the competition in South Africa. Sections of the Ghanaian media have reported that Ghana attempted to bribe Ghana-born Niger defender Kofi Dankwa to play below par so that the Black Stars could win easily. It reported that Ghana skipper and striker Asamoah Gyan met Dankwa. |
