THE WILL OF GOD (I)
PREAMBLE
In this first write-up of the series, "The Will of God", let us look back at some issues that formed the background of the status quo in our relationship with God before Christ came.God made the world and everything in it, including man(Acts 17:24)All that God created, including man, was perfect at creation as God, himself, "saw all that he had made and it was very good"(Genesis 1:31). God was happy with His creation, including man and had a good relationship with man.Every man is independent in his thinking, decision making, speaking and actions. But God wants man to independently decide to depend on Him.(Deuteronomy 30:19; Joshua 24:14-15). Therefore, every man is accountable for all his words, thoughts and deeds(Matthew 12:36-37; Romans 14:12; Hebrews 4:13).When man sinned, he became separated from God. Sin breaks our relationship with God (Isaiah 59:1-2). Basically, sin is rebellion towards God, since in sinning, we do the wrong things as against God's instructions/commands to do good/right things. Remember, "he who does what is right is righteous"(I John 3:7). So, if sin put enmity between man and God, it will take righteousness to reconcile man to God....The wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23). The wages of the righteous is life, but the earnings of the wicked are sin and death(Proverbs 10:16)....there is no one who does good, who is righteous and never sins, not even one.(Ecclesiastes 7:20; Psalm 14:3) ...all our righteous acts are like filthy rags(Isaiah 64:6).

So, before Jesus Christ came into the world, this was the situation man found himself in:-
   - All men had sinned and ought to receive the wages of sin, which is death.
   - Man could not produce the kind of righteousness that can reconcile him to God.

Something needed to be done to salvage man's situation, to keep hope alive for man. Do you want to know what was done? Watch out for THE WILL OF GOD (II)
