Nokia has unveiled a £13 mobile phone that can last for 35 days on a single charge. The phone is aimed at emerging markets where electricity is rare, but could also be sold as a 'backup phone'. Set to go on sale within weeks, the Nokia 105 boasts a colour screen, built in torch and an FM radio The 105 phone - a £13 standard mobile phone that is now the cheapest in the company's range - marks the end of an era as the 105's colour screen means that Nokia have made their last phone with a black-and-white display. It was hailed as 'the ultimate festival phone' by press at the launch in Barcelona. 'The phone was created to offer the essentials – phone calls and SMS – but also some desirable extras,' said Nokia. 'Nokia’s experience in optimising phone quality, combined with its global footprint and economies of scale, is a major contributor to being able to work to such a low price,' the firm said. The launch came amid a slew of low cost mobiles from the Finnish firm, including a £120 smartphone. The Finnish company announced the Lumia 520 alongside three other devices, including a £13 mobile phone, at Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, Spain. The smartphone, which operates with Windows 8, could be perfect for colder countries with its super-sensitive touch-screen technology, meaning it can be used while wearing gloves, the firm said.
