Theblessed:

[b][size=16pt]Please, tell your Pastor to go back to Bible College to learn more of the Scriptures, ok!

And, before he does - may I ask what we are? We are Christians - followers of Christ Jesus Teachings and Principles, ok!

So, if we are followers of Jesus Christ Teachings and Principle, why is it then, a sin to celebrate our birthdays and where in the Bible did it say, it is a sin to do so?

After all, we learnt that the Angels of God in Haven were Singing and Praising God Almighty for the birth of the King of kings and Lord of lords - Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour on the day he was born - his birthday, abi undecided

And Christians, have followed that Principle ever since that day.
Your going to Bible school is really showing in your life. Whose example should people follow, a success or a failure.

So, why is birthday celebration wrong/sin in the blind eyes and deaf ears of your Pastor? Please, tell your Pastor to go back to Bible College and stop spewing and brainwashing people like you out of his own ignorance thus, putting you in error of committing sin out of ignorance, too.

Remember, any sin you committed as a result of the teaching and lies of your Pastor - you will answer for that.

So don't perish out of ignorance! Research and find out the truth!

Read your Bible and pray everyday, and the Holy Spirit will touch and guide your soul to the truth.

Jilo83: where in d Bible dat say xtian should celebrate xmas, easter, n say u should go church on sundays
christianity means christlike.jesus never celebrated his birthday nor did the early apostles, they only broke bread and wine to remember him which he ordered at the last supper.xmas, easter and sunday worship are all pagan rooted and never stemmed from jesus christ.

have u studied ur bible?

thorpido: Jesus attended a wedding feast.Nothing wrong with celebrations...

except for those of you who learn Scriptures like the Pharisees and Sadducees who refuse to see.
Happy birthday Rev(Mrs)Anita Oyakhilome
wedding is ordained by God that was why christ went but when herod celebrated his birthday jesus never went.the only righteous man at the event was john the baptist who got beheaded thesame way pharaoh beheaded one of his staffs on his birthday.

you are the pharisee or sadducee that wants to continue with the TRADITIONS OF MEN thereby neglecting christ and his ways

Jesus never went to school. It must therefore be a sin to go to school.
Did you ever read in the bible that it is better to keep quiet than to talk and expose folly?Stop showing further ignorance and keep quiet.

sweetrita: One thing that confuses is that, members of the church will contribute to build a school for the church. but at the end of the day, the children of the Elders and deaconesses of the church can not afford to go to the school. Because the fees are very very expensive. can some body explain to me why it is so.

You must be very poor, oppressed & frustrated. Its only such people that complain like this. Poor people see the bad aspect of everything.
Try as much as you can to know the truth & get out of poverty. That way, you can begin to appreciate the good in people.

going to school or not doesnt stop u from beign a christian.paul and some of the apostles had some form of education but they ensured that they remained in line with the practices of jesus.birthday celebration leads to extravagant lifestyles with money dat could have been used for charity spent lavishly indulging people in excessive drinking, dancing provocatively, sex etc.dont tell me dat christians celebrate their birthday in a different manner cos its thesame excuse u guys give for christianizing d pagan christmas.

answer this question:which adds to the gospel-birthday or education?

I understand where u are coming from.I'll remind you of the story of when a woman came to pour an expensive perfume on Jesus and some criticised it and said it was a waste and it could have been sold and the money given to the poor. You belong to that school of thought that 'it could have been sold and the money given to the poor instead of wasting it'.It's a mindset that comes with indoctrination.
No one is ruling out the fact that there could be excesses but I guess u have never been at a classy wedding before where class and moderation were shown.
You speak about pagan Christmas?Learn more...pagans don't celebrate Christmas. It's the same ignorance when people talk about pentecostal Christians. The people who celebrated pentecost were not Christians.Get knowledge rather than just indoctrination.

you just showed me u r not a christian.when judas complained about the expensive perfume dat it should have been given to d poor, jesus told him dat d poor u will always have but d messiah-NO!so he wanted to be cherished while around and after he leaves, the poor should be cherished .but christians like u and anita prefer lavishing d money on birthdays, inviting expensively dressed people thereby chasing away poor people cos their dress would be shabby and below standards.
check out d calibre of people at anita's celebrate;were they any poor man there?were u even invited?
concerning christmas,u got it all wrong.read ur bible and make researches

It was mr "perfect" Judas isi Carrot that suggested that the money be sold and given to the poor. The bible expressly stated that he didn't say so because he loved the poor but instead wanted the money to be in his account so that he could steal the money.

What many of the "don't celebrate birthday" folks don't know is that Pastor Anita has probably done more for charity than all her critics on NL put together.
