Rain dance and rain-making rituals are performed by tribal and ethnic groups across the world,by appeasing Forest Spirits. Rain is very important as a water source for drinking, agriculture,etc. Even Chimpanzees, do it, especially performed by the Alpha-Male. does your ethnic group do it? if yes, please describe and share. . Almost every tribe has a rainmaker! simple. most tribes are invlolved in agriculture. also all tribals are humans and most live in situations where water is scarce. Now there are maybe countless Spiritual Forces. however we humans, worship only those that affect our cosmos and our lives. Therefore all these tribes have rainmaking rituals. Even some Arab tribes sill have it, though most lost it. The Bani Rifaeen (Bani Yafa) of Himyar, their Sheikh is known to bring Rains. The Spirit of their Gods is enclosed in an ancient drum in this Sheikh (Chiefs) possession. 1 Like |
