Facebook To Change Its Look Of News Feed. by Olumidzti(m): 2:54pm On Mar 02, 2013
The biggest social networking website Facebook yesterday (Friday, 1st of March) invited reporters to a news conference next Thursday at its Menlo Park headquarters to “come see a new look for News feed”.
This could be a big announcement in the running of the social site. Facebook has made changes in recent years to the look of the site with some leading to much outcry from users.
News feed has been introduced to Facebook since 2006 and it has been the centerpiece of the site since then. Members are able to see friends’ status, group and news links and most things they look for on Facebook.
One of the most recent changes was the timeline which was fine with some but caused out roar among others who threatened the mega site to change it back or they will leave the site.
Funny enough, the number of Facebook’s users has not decreased and it has continued to register more users as the days go by.
This just show that controversy may be negative but it is a part of business, especially for a company as big as Facebook.
We do not know yet how this new change will shape Facebook and its use but we hope Mark Zuckerberg and his tech army has something surprisingly good for us this time.
I’m not threatening to leave though…

Update: the press conference was held successfuly last thursday. Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg explained features that will appear on the News feed facebook is trying to implement. According to him, it'll be like a 'personalized newspaper' where you will be able to explore things that are important to you as a Facebook user. This new News feed is expected to focus mainly on pictures, videos & music. This is believed to be because Facebook wants to increase ads on its mobile platform. The change is only being tested on some selected accounts. The change will take effect for all users in about 6 months time. You can check the full details on the blog I've indicated above.
