Before now scammers, fraudsters and the likes did the calling and texting to make you part with your hard-earned and hard-borrowed money. But since MTN Nigeria introduced the collect call/sms, these “mean men” have found an avenue to send unsolicited fraudulent messages……..while you pay.lol
With MTN Collect call/sms the receiver pays for the call/sms upon accepting to do so.
Just this morning, my roomie who is into video editing got a collect sms from an unknown number. Thinking it might be a potential client he accepted to pay for the message, only for it to read;
“Congratulations, you have won N350,000, your number is among the 42 lucky winners of LACASERA drink bonanza. Ticket No: (MTN3). Callon 08106459013 to claim your price.
Buahahahaha…N5 wasted, but lesson learned- don’t accept collect calls/sms from unknown numbers. But this poses another problem, what if it’s indeed someone we know that wants to connect urgently via collect call/sms? Hmmmn,nawa o!
