For I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance. - Matthew 9:13

Here is one of the reasons Jesus came to earth - to call sinners to repentance. Repentance is a state of being that precedes salvation. It is that point when one’s steel resolve is broken, in the light of an encounter with Jesus, and one admits his/her wrong and is willing to make a fresh start. Just like Jesus, some people are created for this same purpose. They are called to show the unreached and the unbelievers the better options that are available in Jesus Christ.

Indeed, every Christian is called to preach the gospel. Evangelism is part of the mandates that come with the Christian calling. But, the truth is, some Christians are more burdened than others about the salvation of souls. To this category of Christians, ministering the gospel is not just a matter of being asked to do it at church or fellowship, it is an addiction. They are naturally compelled to do it, and their day would not be complete until they have reached out to someone.

This does not excuse the other Christians who are not doing this. In fact, any Christian who is not doing it is operating below par.

But, beyond the general calling, there are Christians who are greatly agitated seeing people who live as if there is no life after death. They are disturbed when they meet people who have not accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord. They always want to preach to everyone who comes their way. Even if such people don’t listen, these soul-winners would still have their say. They don’t give up and they are not easily deterred when their targets give them a tough time.

God considers them wise (Proverbs 11:30), and great are their rewards in heaven. Does this sound like you?

You will succeed in Jesus Name!
