The risk factor will be discussed under two headings-controllable and uncontrollable.
Controllable factors are the factor you can do something about :

A RAISED CHOLESTROL IN BLOOD:
Fat living (artheroma ) of the coronary artery is the major cause of CHD. Reduce animal fat content of food. Eat more of vegetable proteins and fruit.

B OBESITY :
The more obese you are the greater your tendency to diabetes and hypertension and high cholesterol in your blood. Your risk of CHD is equally high. It is essential to control your weight.

C STRESS:
Many people with heart attack have pointed to some personal stress as a cause. Domestic, family, social and work place, stress is confirmed triggers to heart attack.

D LACK OF EXERCISE:
Regular exercise will protect you against coronary heart disease. Exercise your body 20 minutes
Per day (2-3 times a week). The type of exercise like walking, swimming, jogging or dancing.
Uncontrollable Factors

SCIENTIFIC FACTORS
These are factors inherited through the genes from either of the parents. Some people have inherited high cholesterol level, which can effect as the acquired ones. If heart disease runs in your family, then you must have regular medical check up.

AGE AND GENDER
Heart-related disease becomes more common as age advances. Below the age of 55 years, CHD is more common among men than women.
