Can water serve the purpose of a coolant. Just bought VW vento clx 1997 model(Toks). I want to be sure what i am doing.

Don't wait till the next oil change to start using coolant. The more you use that water, the more harm it does to your engine.

I dont know which colour of coolant that will be good for your Vento (I dont know much about VW). But I use TOTAL coolant for my Peugeot, which is good for Aluminiun Cylinder head too. The colour is green, though.

Thanks Ikenna, I'm off to buy any good coolant.

Just came back from Nnewi auto market. Was able to see ABRO coolant. Costs #250.00 per can. Bought 2. I will be managing this for now until somebody comes up with a better coolant for vw vento 1997 model. At least it is better than water.
