The Emotional Assault


I have this pain I've tried to kill all the way
But it won't go as it still hurts me to this day
It all started when I chose the wrong path and went astray
And won't end even after the fateful black friday


A day before then I lost Tunji a close friend
But his death was not going to make me bend
For the brotherhood cause, my way I chose not to amend
Until I lost what I cherished most in the end


If only she called before taking her flight
If only I knew she was coming around that night
If only she didn't arrive during the gun fight
If only there was light to aid my sight


At first there was a crossfire battle nextdoor
Then I heard footsteps, someone approaching my door
I shot blindly into the dark, the night made my vision poor
Only to see Beatrice in a pool of blood laying on the floor


Regrettably, the last picture she saw was of me with a gun
My eyes were red burning in flames hotter than the sun
She smiled as if dying in my arms was fun
Then closed her eyes, ending the relationship we had begun


Today, I wonder: what have I gained from joining the cult?
I lost everyone close to me and it's all my fault.
For me, compared to dying, living is a lot more difficult
Because now I live with my guilt, the inevitable,ever lasting emotional assault

I will give you twelve kisses tonight
Before I leave to catch my flight

The first will be to end our fight
The second will be to make things right

The third will be to end your plight

The fifth I will plant on your lips so light
The sixth to make your face so bright

The seventh will give you an insight
The eighth will give you a foresight

The ninth because I'm your knight
The tenth to keep you in my sight

The eleventh will be with all my might
The last I will give to make you sleep tight

Really, what did you expect?
My reaction today shouldn't be hard to suspect
How could you expect me to act like all was perfect
Remember, you were the first to throw away your respect

The other time when Alex came visiting you prepared him hell
There was nothing he did that won't make you yell
In his brother's house you treated him as a prisoner in the cell
Don't think I forgot because I still remember very well

When my mother came visiting you called her a witch
You turned his son's home to a battle pitch
I tried to pacify you but to your senses you wouldn't switch
Until my mother told me I don't have a wife but a b.itch

At last, the opportunity I sought has finally been found
Now that your parents and siblings are around
I will make you dance to same music in every beat and sound
And will know how it feels to have someone's pride rubbished in the ground

Somethings are excellent but not commendable
Somethings are pleasant but not desirable
Somethings are right but not acceptable
Somethings are eventful but not remarkable

It was so tender yet so toxic
