HAPPY PEOPLE

Rejoice evermore
1 Thessalonians 5:16

Happy people! Who are these happy people? Is it the rich, the influential or the people things seems to be working well for? Christians are the happy people, but you might say it does not look like that, yes you might be right but Christians are meant to be the happy people, although only a few percentage of Christians know the secret of living happily no matter the condition, and while some are in constant sorrow of heart because they refused to discover the truth and walk in the truth.

The truth about living happily for the rest of your life is not something you can learn just by someone telling you, but something you learn living by. To start with, many think it’s not real for someone to live happily always only happen in the movies, while some others also believes that happiness is attached to the things you have and can get, so the more things you can get the happier you become, but experience has taught that this is not always true because you can have all the wealth in the world and yet remain unhappy for the rest of your life. Some also say, as Christians we can live happily always but only when we get to Heaven.
Countering all views, we can be happy from now on till eternity, I remember those films and cartoons of yesteryears, it always have a happy ending with the saying and they live happily ever after, though these are stories but they paint a very perfect picture to the happily ever after which is free from problems and all that could bring unhappiness. I will want to think in this line as I write this article and also that this happy people I am writing about remain happy no matter the circumstances.

To be part of this happy people or to be a happy person for the rest of your life, you need to become a Christian, I am not saying you have to start going to church, what I am saying exactly is that you have to become a born again Christian and start up a relationship with Christ, when you do this you don’t just become a happy person, even though you already are, you still have to learn to be a happy person (living happily no matter the condition). Now when you become a born again Christian, some things happens just like the bible describes it in 2 Corinthians 5:17 if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature old things are passed away behold all things are become new, so when you give your life to Christ you become a new creature, a new person and living anew as a result of Christ life which has come to reside in you. It is said in John 10:10 ……………..I am come that they may have life and have it more abundantly. The life of Christ that comes inside of you changes you and your nature and gives you a new nature and a higher kind of life which takes hold of your spirit. When you give your life to Christ and you become born again, it’s just a beginning in a whole process, so I want us to see living happily ever after as a process.

When you first come into Christ, there is this joy that fills your life and you are happy always because everything seems to be working just fine and in your favor, the decision you made for Christ seems to be the best decision you ever made in your life, but as times went by, when you begin to know the lord and He begins to test your faith, things gets rough and no longer tend to work in your favor which makes to doubt the decision you have taken, if actually it’s the best decision. At this point you tend to be sorrowful and it seems as if you have lost the joy of accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and personal savior, you may stay longer or shorter at this stage depending on the call of God on your life, the assignment He had called you for and also your attitude during this process, at this junction your faith is really tested if indeed you truly love God, but sadly enough many tend to fall at this stage saying after all it does not really work. The happiness here depends on individual Christians, how much he has come to know God and how much he loves Him, at this level it is expected of him not to always be happy because he has not come to know God that much, so at times when some things happen which shakes his faith he tends to loose his happiness.

Every Christians should realize that he has joy which is more than happiness, because happiness is as a result of what happens to him but joy is still there irrespective of what happens around him. Those that endure and pass through this stage tends to know God the more, this kind of knowledge of God is not knowledge as a result of studies or head knowledge, but knowledge as a result of experience that was gathered during your walk with God (experiential knowledge), the bible says in the book of Hebrews 12:11 No chastisement seems to be joyous at the moment but grievous but afterwards it yielded a peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them that are exercise thereby. Not that this people move out of the chastisement or training of the Lord, it still come sometimes but as a result of the exercise and training, this people come to understand the reason for every chastisement and training that it is working together for their good, the scripture also says in Romans 8:28 All things worked together for good for them that love God and are the called according to His good purposes. And also in James 1:4 Count it all joy when you fall into divers temptation knowing that when the work is completed in you, you will perfect lacking nothing, so all this knowledge bring constant joy to that Christian that has gone through this process and the Christian now lives as if in another world (which is in fact true), despising every unpleasant circumstances and living in constant joy. The scripture says in 2 Corinthians 4:18 for we set our eyes not on what is seen but what is unseen, for what is seen is temporary but what is unseen is eternal, so he lives in a dream land always, where all things is perfect and working together for his good which manifest in its own time.

In conclusion, despite all that happens in the life of a Christian he can still live happily ever after because of the Holy Spirit in him. The bible says in Romans 5:5 and hope makes not ashamed because the love of God is shed abroad in our heart by the Holy Ghost which is given to us. When we accept Jesus Christ as our lord and personal savior, the Holy Spirit comes into our heart, working inside of us both to will and to do of the Father’s good pleasure, as we walk with the Father the Holy Spirit comes upon us for service, enabling us to serve the father in an acceptable way and He also makes all grace and favor abound to us, whereby we function without struggle and receives without asking, causing us to live happily ever after and making us HAPPY PEOPLE NOW AND FOR ALL ETERNITY.
