I wonder why UEFA changed the format.


Many years ago, Champions league is a competition for champions of each leagues in Europe.

It has been populated by the mediocres now.

It either they change the name or restore those smaller competition like Cup Winners cup et la to cater for the remnant clubs.


Nairalanders, what is your take on this?

I agree it should be solely for champoins. If we had such a format, last year would have been Chelsea's first ever Champions league outing,

Thats why you are different class among the Gunners here.
They only comment on threads that favours Arsenal. Ignore those that does otherwise.

In the year 2000, Chelsea play in the champions league and even play in the quarter finals. They shouldnt have been there because they are not champions of England.

Imagine Liverpool last year for God Sake. Chelsea was 30 points ahead of them in the league.
