Psalm 23 By An African Laborer

The European merchant is my shepherd,

And I am in need,

He makes me lie down in cocoa farms,

He leads me beside the water of great wants,

He resoreth my doubt in the pool parts,

Yea, though I walk in the valleys of starvation,

I do not fear evil,

For thou art against me,

The general managers and profiteers, frighten me.

Thou prepare a reduction of my salary, In the presence of my creditors,

Thou anointed my income with taxes,

My expenses run over,

Surely, unemployment and poverty, will follow me,

All the days of my existence,

And I will dwell in a rented apartment all the rest of my life.

Amen.
