Fede Alvarez. I think he did everything on his own and it grabbed the attention of 'Hollywood'... also earned him a $30-40M deal to direct features of which the first is this 'Evil Dead' remake.

Yeah! The deal was actually for Sci-Fi... so I was surprised when I heard he was doing Evil Dead. It's released here on the 19th, can't wait to go and see it.
