Nigeria lose their first match since qualifiers started. I cannot fault the boys and their coach at all. The tactics from the ivoriens was clear from start. I'm surprised the ref finally decided to issue a red card late on. The boys will learn from this

Great match and good tactics by the Ivorien bench. Our coaches should have known that after the emphatic win against Ghana that the Ivoriens will play defensive and try to catch us on the counter. That is exactly what they did. Rather than continue to push forward and try to win the game at all cost just to maintain their winning streak, our boys should have relaxed and settle for a draw especially towards the end of the match. They paid dearly for their over-ambition.
But, pheeeeeeew! those boys are good. The game was won and lost on the bench.
This will be a lesson for the boys that you don't win all the time. Hope they still qualify.

I think at 80+ mins Nigeria should have settled for a draw. The quest to win the match at all cost and over confidence of the defenders cost us. A draw should have already seen them through to the semi finals.

I saw the defenders dribbling and unnecessary holding on to the ball in dangerous areas, that shouldn't have been allowed to happen in the dying minutes. Eventually, there was a slip from the left full back and that was it.

the boys need to get atleast a draw in there next match
