Google Kenya’s Websitehacked, Defaced by dboy080808(m): 10:15am On Apr 17, 2013
The official Google Kenya domain (google.co.ke)
was hacked and the website defaced on Monday
by Bangladeshi hacker TiGER-M@TE, showing a
black background and stamped with ‘HACKED’ in
red colour across the website.
Although the site is back to normal as at the time
of writing this post, The Hacker News reported
that “the hacked screen spiralled in as some
foreign music played in the background”, during
the cyber attack.
The reasons for the attack are still unknown.
TiGER-M@TE has been known for targeting high-
profile websites and defacing them completely. In
April 2012, the hacker group hacked and defaced
the website of Interswitch, a Nigerian-based
electronic transaction switching and payment
processing company.
Google could not be reached for comment.
