Dry leaves drop slowly
frm the stem of weepy willow
eyes wide shut
heads hug troubled pillows

Tossing and turning
wont ease the yearnings
Malcom has murdered sleep
the soul is burning

when sedatives become amphetamines
sweet lullabies just cant ease the mind

half-asleep, half-waking
they take to the streets
leaving loved ones still draped in the sheets

eyes glazed over
seeing the unseen
they walk down the lanes and boulevard of dreams

Shrouded in mystery
mistaken for the destitute
they haunt the twilight
its the sleep-walking institute
cry
