Unless one is blessed with a completely flawless skin, one has to wear makeup to fit like a second skin. Professionals say that the only color one should apply to the face should be eye shadow, lipstick or lip gloss, eye liner, mascara and blush. As soon as one figures out how to do make up step by step, then looking perfect all day and every day will be something to look forward to.

The first and most important concept is to cleanse and tone the skin before applying any make up. Place dots of foundation on the forehead, nose, cheeks and chin. Then start blending it in with the finger or a sponge. Use outward motions to do this. Be sure to also apply foundation over the eye lids. If one has any dark spots or blemishes then one should apply some concealer before applying the foundation.

The second process is to apply powder. This will ensure a smooth finish and this should be applied using a downward motion. This is also done so that the eye make up and blush goes on smoother and also blend better. The powder also makes the cosmetics stay on for longer and avoids shiny patches.

The third process is to add color to the area of the eyes. Experts will say that one should add a base color, a crease color for the creases of the eye lids and then a highlight color for the area below the brow. One should then use a cotton ball of a fingertip and blend the three colors in with each other. Only when this is done should one make use of an eye pencil for a darker effect and lastly apply the mascara.

Step four is to apply blush. The correct way to apply blush is to not have it close to the nose and directly under the iris of the eye. A good blush brush, quite larger in size, will give the best results. The last is applying lipstick. Starting from the center of the lips working outwards.
