Hello, do you still need help on this? Oxwall is a unique social networking software. What's more is that it's free and opensource, Meaning that developers can download and modify this script to suit their need. I have worked with PhPFox, Elgg and Social Engine and as far as I am concern, Oxwall is the best social networking script.

And yes, I'm an Oxwall developer with over two years experience on the platform.

I have used both script. Elgg is 10x better if you are a developer, go with oxwall if you are not a developer. Phpfox may look like Facebook but the coding is annoying, why would I like to be like Facebook anyway. At the price of both Phpfox and social engine, you are better off with elgg or oxwall if your website grow then you get your custom script.
Questions I keep asking would be Social network administrator - how many big website in Nigeria have you seen running on oxwall/elgg.

Both are object oriented, elgg is using MVC pattern of codeigniter.
