Why You Should Vote YES To Scrap JAMB/UTME! by Kenny4lyfe(m): 1:21pm On May 05, 2013
On 3rd of May 2013, The registrar of JAMB Prof. Dibu Ojerinde announced the release of the recently concluded UTME 2013 written on Saturday 27th of April 2013. In the registrar's announcement, he remarked that; "The general performance of candidates in this year's examination shows remarkable improvement compared with last year"!

Do you agree with him?

Before answering that question, consider this statistics released by the exam body carefully!

A total of 1,644,110 Candidates registered for both the PPT and DBT test. The statistics revealed further that:
10 candidates scored 300 above;
704,612 candidates scored between 200-299;
711,748 candidates scored between 160-199;
127,017 candidates scored between 1-159;
47,974 candidates were absent;
12,110 results witheld and;
40,692 results are invalid.
Before the results were announces, there had been an announcement that at the end of the day, only 500,000 of the total number of candidates will gain addmission into tetiary institutions all over the country! Where does that leave the remaining 1.1million nigerian youths?
Plus the fact that there are millions of 'O' level students that'll be joining this group of youth by the end of this year. Leaving the nation with a backlog of young minds waiting to be absorbed by the tertiary institutions!
Which way Nigeria?
The greatest and best resources any nation could have are youths who aspire to do positive things with their lives! There is also a strong evidence that the current youth restiveness we're facing today, be it Boko Haram, Kidnap Gangs, Robbery Gangs, Oil Thieves and so on and so forth are from this group of people that have been bureaucratically denied ONE SIMPLE THING: GOOD, AFFORDABLE AND CONTINUED EDUCATION!
So, I put it to you fellow Nigerians that; should we sit by and let this continue or just do something about it?
All it takes is to send "YES" in a SMS to 4662 or visit www.noa.gov.ng to vote!
Secure your future! Save the next generation!
