Its been the third week, since activities in nigeria polytechnics has crippled due to ASUP strike, yet, both the media, who claimed to be writing for the helpless and the govt., who has caused great harm to the educational system in nigeria has kept silent.

The media shows better interest in news related to universities than polytechnics. If ASUU were to be on strike, the newspaper pages will be defaced by columnist, cartoonist and journalist as if they were paid to do it. The television and radio station would give update of the strike in every minute, as if it was an MTN advert. The recent Ekiti university protest that comes up at the same time with the ASUP strike is an example. I wonder why the media is completely silent about the ASUP strike.

Also, The ongoing ASUP strike has shown complete negligence of the polytechnic by the government. Although, this is not the 1st time, our polytechnic fore fathers(ALUMNI) has lived the rest of their lives with the trauma of this unfairness by erstwhile & present government both in their workplace and in the economy.

For how long will this continue, this neglect will continue to deprive the economy of its growth...............the developed nations grew practically and not theoretically.
