When I read the thread about 10,000 ex-militants going back to the creeks some days ago, I began to wonder how come the people whom the oil wells are located in their communities are begging for compensation while the wells are being owned by people who are not from anywhere near these communities? What happened that nobody in the oil well communities own any of the wells? Please can we discuss so we can know the secret behind this mistery.
Thank you as you share your views.

Nothing is missing. They have been failed by their leaders. The Niger delta has always been at the national cake sharing table since independence.owning an oil well does to translate to diddy squat.
How many of the people with oil wells actually create jobs from other ventures. Apart from dangote and adenuga.none.also why are blacks always jealous of the success of another person while they are so eager to kiss the bum of foreigners . After all , most oil wells are owned by foriegners.
The Niger delta elites may not have oil well (some do or were given oil wells during the military era), the level and sophistication of oil theft translates to having one.
Anybody who has ever been to the Niger delta knows about the sheer amount of money in circulation.the money is simply not filtering through to the people .
