Employers in Nigeria are now using Google to speed up their employment processes.
How and Why?
HR says that with the modern level of technology, job vacancies should now be directed to "target audiences" instead of the regular "mass marketing" via radio, blogs, newspaper etc because mass marketing is more expensive, it attracts too many unqualifed candidates which makes sorting the best match takes lots of time making it the hardest part.
Now HR's uses Google for these following purpose:
* to find their needed candidate using Certain keywords.
* to verify the identity of selected candidates via social media which reflects alot via their profile contents.
* sites where candidate's profile are found reflects what possibly their interests are. etc
Now, if an HR googles your name, what will they find? Will the information help your job search or will it hurt?
The best way to get the content of your resume on Google is to register a profile at "JobSeekers' Social Network" and complete your profile. In a few days, its shows up on Google.
e.g. I googled "Ezinne Doris". The result rivaled with Facebook & Opera. That shows relevance.

I tink its a gud idea for employers...its faster, cheaper and quicker. But for the job seekers, hmmm, only the smartest ones will have greater chance.

Dont quite get it... r dey searching by name, profession, or smtin else? Alot of tinz cm when u google a word. Even tinz not related to ur search area...btw i need a job...can work as a computer operator/PA. I'm gud at organising tinz tho' still need more exposure. The name's Mannix Uche

dey search by such keywords...and der are some codes googlers add to der query to get d best results. I advice you go to jobmating.com and register and summit your resume details...in a few days, google will index it and show up in google results and jobmating search tags result. Then let others know. Maybe posting another similar topic in ur profile. Be nice...smile
