No it doesn't use SIM. It's a Wi-Fi tablet.

If you have an Android phone/iPhone/Windows Phone, you can share that data connection on the phone via Wi-Fi Hotspot. That's how I use mine when I'm out and about. If you use a SIM tablet, you'll be paying for two data plans when you could have used just one. And when I'm at home, I use it with a wireless modem router.
