There are events and there are numerous social events happening in Abuja almost on a day to day basis although Abuja is primarily an Administrative and somewhat boring city rather than a commercial or industrial city like Lagos. However there are a few events that happen in Abuja that are worth knowing because of the impact they have on the capital city whenever they’re held. Here are 6 popular Abuja Events to take note of:

Designers Market Place (DMP)

This is one of the most popular social events that happens on the first Saturdays of every month at the popular city park located in Wuse 2. The DMP as it is more popularly called is a small business and lifestyle event that enables small lifestyle related businesses in Abuja showcase their products and services to an estimated 5,000 people who visit the event venue each time it holds. The event starts by 10 am and ends 7 pm and is a great place to network and socialize.

Fusion Lifestyle Fair

This is a quarterly shopping event targeting both fashion and lifestyle vendors and even food related businesses. It’s held at the BMO events center at River Plate Park in Wuse 2 and attracts some of the most interesting Abuja small businesses. It’s usually held on a Saturday and Sunday making it a two day event and usually the 3rd weekend in the month it’s held.

Adopt a Tweep

The quarterly Adopt a tweep is a unique event which happens in Abuja. Unlike most events this particular event is for online social media savvy folks who want to expand their social media prowess, meet and interact with other active Abuja based bloggers and social media enthusiasts. The concept was developed by popular Abuja tweep (twitter personality) Nnodim Blossom AKA @blcompere with the aim of enabling real life networking of tweeps. The event happens on the first Saturdays of every quarter at Hawthorn Suites in Area 11, Garki. For details on the next adopt a tweep contact @blcompere @adoptatweep or @ojaysays.
