Somebody said Miss Abuja should have won the just concluded Most beautiful girl in Nigeria (M.B.G.N) contest but she was probably busy posting photos on Instagram and so she lost it to the 18 year old Miss Bayelsa. Others have gone a bit far with the way Miss Abuja flunked her easy questions with a joke saying: Miss Abuja revealed to be related to Patience Jonathan.
Come to think of it is it not coincidental that the host state eventually produced the winner of the contest? Was it planned or was it out of on the spot joy and elation that the governor of Bayelsa state decide to make Anna Ebier Banner a special adviser on culture and tourism?
Critics say that was pure politics in play. After all the Murray Bruces (the organizers) are from the same Bayelsa state which holds the power stool of Nigeria right presently.
How will you explain making someone win when she said her role model, Ellen Johnson of Liberia is a fearless and fearful woman… Haba!
Well someone said just like China hosted the Miss world pageant in 2012 and produced the beauty queen, it is the same in the case of Bayelsa.
The audience had their own favourites who they tipped to emerge as the new Miss Nigeria and Miss Imo was a favourite. Can someone explain that mix up between Miss Imo and Abia? Common Judges that explanation was not congruent enough.
It just seems like a call came in from Abuja to have her included in the runner ups.

Anyway, its different strokes for different folks and what the audience might be seeing could be different from what the judges are looking out for.

Whether the Most beautiful girl in Nigeria competition was made fair or not, it still boils down to corruption, which is the greatest plaque destroying Nigeria today.
No matter the fairness and transparency involved, our natural lack of trust for each other will make one party cry foul play.
Ok what’s the lesson learnt from the just concluded MBGN? It takes more than beauty to make a real woman. Ladies, even as you spend so much time on beauty, please try as well to add value to your brains. A wise guy will choose an intelligent wife over a beautiful one but brains and beauty are definitely every man;s desire. And congrats Miss. Anna Ebier Banner.
