THE SALE OF THIS CAR TODAY HAS TOLD ME NOT TO JUDGE A POTENTIAL BUYER BY LOOKS

TODAY 4TH JUNE 2008, A HAUSA MAN WALKED INTO MY SHOP HE WAS LOOKING NOT SO CLEAN, HIS IMMEDIATE ENCOUNTER DIDN'T STRIKE TO ME LIKE SOMEONE WHO CAN AFFORD THE CAR, SO I DIDN'T GIVE IN MUCH ATTENTION.

NO OFFENCE HE LOOKED SO MUCH LIKE A BEGGAR. HE DOESN'T EVEN KNOW WHAT MILEAGE IS,

HE ASKED ABOUT THE PRICE AND I TOLD HIM, HE PRICED 1.4M AND I DECLINED, JUST IN A HURRY TO DISCHARGE HIM,

I TOLD HIM 1.450M LAST OFFER, HE DIDN'T HOLD ANY BAG OR ANY FORM OF HOLDING CASH, AND BY LOOKS HE DIDN'T LOOK TO ME LIKE SOMEONE THAT WOULD HOLD A BANK ACCOUNT NOT TO TALK OF ISSUING ME A CHEQUE.

HE TOLD ME IF I WAS OK WITH BEING PAID IN US DOLLARS, SMILE GAZED MY FACE WHILE I NODDED MY HEAD, NEXT THING, HE BENT DOWN, DIPPED HIS HANDS IN HIS SOCKS AND BROUGHT OUT 2 PACKETS OF $100 Notes. HE PAID ME $12200 CASH. A thought of it being fake currencies struck me so I opted for us to walk into a nearby bank which i hold a Domiciliary account with, At this point I wasn't ashamed to walk with the tattered looking Rich Customer , I confirmed all the notes and We sealed the transaction.

He came from Kogi State, Precisely from Okenne, all the way, I handed over the title documents and all the keys to him, and he drove off.

I now thought of the fact that probably his dressing was intentional to dissuade anyone of the fact that he had over 2m cash on him.

Never underestimate anyone.

This is why despite all advocation to the contrary, I am one of the few that believe NYSC is a good thing, if done properly. They should post all you bush Lagosians to the remotest parts of the country so that you will know and appreciate your fellow countrymen better! grin

Hi all,

I would suggest we move this NEW topic to appropriate section of nairaland since inspired_m has successfully sold the 2002 Honda Accord in "dolapo" and close this trend.

Regards.
