Network Operations Manager

The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all necessary network and system human and technical resources at his disposal to monitor and maintain network performance.  The manager shall at all times provide his working group with the necessary management tools and feedback mechanisms to maintain the highest level of customer satisfaction

The manager develops and provides management with the necessary management reporting tools which reflects the overall and specific performance of the various groups under his management and direct responsibility including all external factors and influences to the group’s performance and delivery of the company services.

Responsibilities:

• Manage a team of 24x7 NOC Shift engineers
• Manage and maintain all aspects of the Data Center
• Lead NOC team to resolve level II and III escalations through a structured troubleshooting process
• Regularly and religiously implement the trainings set forth by each group and see to it that skills are transferred and complementary to all groups thus providing flexibility and inter group support in times of exigencies.
• Ensure that the operations groups strategic plans and directions are carried out in line with the company’s goals
• Ensure the integrity of all data bases and documentation with respect to the operations of the network are religiously completed and archived.
• Ensure that all NOC processes adhere to ISO9001:2000 / TL9000 standards
• Develop and Implement automated monitoring systems to provide optimal monitoring capability
• Instill a culture of continuous improvement through root cause analysis and corrective actions
• Develop and implement a management tool (reporting system) for the group that reflects network/system resources (internal and external) performance vital to the business, which includes KPIs. The tools to reflect but not limited to: operations status and updates, critical resources to support the operation of the business, expansion of the service, system and network in relation to current/new technologies relative to the times and the competitive market and systems or products evaluation reports to management applicable to the relevant market needs.
• Ensure that customer and supplier SLA have been met



Requirements:

• Bachelor or Masters Degree with at least 10 years of work experience that can be demonstrated to be applicable to the responsibilities listed in the job description.
• Minimum of 10 years professional experience, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or management role in handling operations and roll-out projects and have managed Customer Support roles.
Knowledge, skill and abilities required:
• Demonstrated proficiency with the following technical capabilities: Satellite and land based wireless communications technologies.
• Relevant experience in a Service Provider Network Operations Center Environment
• Hands on experience on the above technologies, related work and test equipments associated with the above.
• Ability and dedication to impart knowledge and expertise to the operations group and initiate initiative to disseminate that knowledge and expertise down to the echelon of the organization.
• Management and technical problem-solving skills in high pressure environments and situations.
• A team player and motivator with proficiency in training and directing groups on division objectives and goals.
• Ability to articulate, communicate and implement strategic plans and business processes and manage confidentiality of information related to business strategies.
