Nigerian and Chelsea midfielder, Kenneth Omeruo, has finally been granted work permit in England. The 19-year old fullback was signed from Belgian Pro League side, Standard Liege, in January of last year. He spent the rest of the season and the whole of the 2012-2013 season on loan at ADO Den Haag. He is yet to make an official appearance for Chelsea due the fact that had, until today, not been able to obtain a work permit from British officials.

Omeruo has represented his country, Nigeria, at the Under-21 level and senior levels. He played a crucial role in Nigeria's campaign at the 2011 FIFA U-21 Championship in Colombia. He earned his first senior cap at the age of 19 in a goalless draw with Cape Verde preparatory to the 2013 African Cup of Nations which Nigeria would go on to win. He recently represented his country in the 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup in Brazil, starting all three games as Nigeria was bundled out of the tournament in the group stages courtesy of losses to beaten semifinalists Uruguay (2-1) and beaten finalists Spain (3-0). He has won 14 senior caps for Nigeria (as of July 31, 2013).

Good news. The chap shows signs of a future great footballer. He can be one of the best defenders in the word. Hopefully, he will replace John Terry. Wish him well.

Yeah, but Terry is still a long way from retirement. Guess he'll have to settle for a place on the bench in the foreseeable future. But I believe Mourinho has some plans for him going by the way he made sure that he receives a work permit.

But I think he needs to mature first. I don't see him benching the likes of Luiz, Cahill, Ivanovic or even captain Terry next season. But I know that in the end he would be a fantastic player.

Meanwhile, Omeruo was not included in Chelsea's squad for their US tour.
