We established yesterday that the devil cannot gain access into the life of the believer unless there are footholds left unattended. Two of these footholds- curses and unforgiveness - were discussed yesterday. Today we will go a step further to discuss a third foothold which is sin. Sin can be manifested in different forms but we will focus on only two aspects - lies and sexual sin.



Eph 4:25 Therefore, putting away lying, “ Let each one of you speak truth with his neighbor,” for we are members of one another.



There are no white lies; a lie is a lie! All forms of embellishment to the truth through exaggerations or omissions count as lies. Lying is one of the fastest ways to invite the devil into one's home because he is the father of all lies & as a father, will have express access to his children (John 8:44).



Learn to pull your husband/wife, fiancé/fiancée aside to correct them as politely possible whenever he/she lies. Failure to do this is a legal invitation by both of you to the devil to come into your lives. After he has taken up residence as your father-in-law, kicking him out becomes difficult.



Another manifestation of sin is seen in 1 Cor 6:15 which says "Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ? Shall I then take the members of Christ and make them members of a harlot? Certainly not!"



When you sleep around, you join yourself physically and spiritually to different people. The implication of this is that you voluntarily sign up to partake of everything the person carries, curses and all. This is the reason many believers have not moved forward; they have joined themselves to people whose lives will never move forward.



The good news is that you can be delivered from all of these. How? Join yourself to the Lord! 1 Cor 6:17 "But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him."



CONFESSION: Christ has given me a clean slate therefore the devil no longer has a hold over me.



PRAYER: Every foothold through which the devil has gained access into my life in the past is destroyed in Jesus' name.
