there are several things involed here.your knowledge counts, your creativity,innovation,and the softwares you use,all these works hand in hand.
I kinda agree with uspry 1

composition and balance are very key to a good graphic. If the viewer cannot identify a Logo's thrust in communication then the point is lost.
Heres an an example
Something I designed with a simple message that is spelled out in the slogan .
Eventually a Logo like this could have the World Map taken out if the Bib campaign was to get the point across . "The Center point of the Commonwealth"

well, i will say it all boils down to your creativity, you mite know 20 software vector and 3d program in this world, but if you don't have a design sense, you woun't be able to make an impact, look below and see the two identity i fap out for some guys
