There are 3 big auction companies in the US namely Manheim, IAAI and Copart. All 3
companies sell a combination of salvage and non-salvage cars. However only one of
them as far as I know makes their raw database accessible to the Public and that’s
Copart. In a previous life, I worked as a database programmer and I can tell you
this is highly commendable. With access to a company’s raw database (sometimes
called API), you will have a competitive advantage over others in dealing with
that company.

Now, the various branches of Copart hold their auctions once a week. That means if a car
does not sell this week, the owner has to wait another 7 days before Copart can try to
sell it again. Some sellers who do not wish to wait this long go for what is called a “Buy
it Now” auction. This simply means that instead of waiting another 7 days, they can sell
their car immediately to anybody at a fixed price. This is where you get the best deals
and that’s my main purpose of starting this thread.

At any point in time the Copart database contains around 100,000 cars. Out of this number,
only about 5000 have the “Buy it Now” option and out of this 5000, only about 3000 is in
what one can consider acceptable condition. I have identified these 3000 and posted them on
a website with the Nigerian buyer in mind. So go to the website and have a look. If you
see what you like, I can get it for you immediately. You do not have to wait for the
auction date.

The website is www.NairaCarDealers.com

P.S: When you visit, you will see mostly Toyota, Honda and Nissan brands on the front
page. This is deliberate since they are the most popular brands in Nigeria. To see other
brands like Acura, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen etc, click the “Browse By Car Model”
link. The site will be updated daily. So if you don’t see what you like today, check back
tomorrow.

I have purchased several cars from Copart this year for myself and clients. I can help you
get the car of your choice too. My email address is BizMotors@aol.com

I have done a search on Copart and have a few cars I am interested in. Can I send you the lot numbers so you can advise accordingly on how I can proceed? Also, could you give me your take on Water Damaged Cars? Thanks.
Re: ***The Art And Science Of Getting A Good Car From US Car Auction*** by BizBooks(m): 1:37pm On Aug 14, 2013
@Oppre26,

Yes, you can send the lot numbers to me at BizMotors@aol.com
I have been told that water-damaged cars can be fixed in Lagos. However, having not
bought a water-damaged car yet, I don't know how true that is.

Victoriousvic: Lovely site! Do the prices include the clearing cost too or just the shipping and others?

Prices shown include shipping to Nigeria but does not include clearing. Some clients have
their own agents and prefer to do the clearing themselves. However, we have agents on hand
to assist when needed.

hello bizbooks!, i took my time to visit your website, and i must commend you,for automating the copart search for us.......
There are just a few suggestions i could proffer:
1)attaching prices in naira to more lots
2)tweaking the user interface and making your website more user friendly

nice strategy!it'll take a little while, with search engine optimization to get your website enough traction

im not buying yet, hopefully i could give you a try, towards the end of the year, when i'll be picking up a sexy 04 corrolla sport....

Cheers!
