OAU Graduates To Protest Non
Mobilisation For NYSC Scheme Tomorrow
Graduates from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ille Ife, are planning a peaceful protest on the University campus tomorrow, 13 August, to press home their demands to be mobilised for the annual National Youth Service Scheme (NYSC).

The students say many of their contemporaries in other institutions are rounding off their service year, while they wait in hope, despite fulfilling all their academic obligations.

“We finished our final examinations in February, this year. It is quite painful that the authorities of the institution were unable to mobilise us for the NYSC in June due to the non approval of our results on time.

Many of our colleagues in other institutions are about rounding off their service, yet we are still praying to be mobilised In November. No one even knows if our results have been approved.

I want to appeal to the authorities of this great university to get us mobilised in November. We are tired of staying at home”, said Onome Tebidla, a graduate of the institution.
