I thought some of these tips might help anyone interested in leasing vechiles and equipments to avoid having issues after..

1.Make sure the terms of contract are spelled out clearly and written in black and white.

Kindly specify conditions like mobilizations, daily charge,non-usage(standby charge).

2.Have a mental instinct on the driver or operator of the equiment. The core point of the business is having a trustworthy and courteous driver who will drive the leasee to anywhere he wants without hassles, complaints or unnecessary nagging. The driver must also be highly trustworthy.

In case of an equipment operator,he should always be at his duty point do his job and make sure he doesn't get involved in lengthy discussions on site with the other guys on site.

3.On the contract spell out who takes care of who buys fuel or diesel as the case may be,who maintains the vehicle and who provides the driver or equipment.

4.Negotiate more if you are not OK with the terms and costs of the leaser.

More tips will come your way in our subsequent articles

Tips on leasing (contd)

I posted some important tips on leasing sometime and would want to enumerate a few more points:

Always enquire on the behavior of the driver before making lease arrangements with any company.Sometimes we have impatient and erratic drivers who keep complaining on any instruction giving to them during the course or duration of their job,so make sure you specify the driver to be assigned to you has to be a well mannered driver with courteous and professional personalities.

Normal working hours is 8 hours, any extra hour should be spelled out and in some cases extra charges might have to be paid depending on how long.

..will post more tips

Tips on leasing Vechiles (contd)

This time we will be discussing on construction equipments.

When leasing Construction equipments always have in mind that equipment owner has his terms for lease, now make sure he spells out those terms to you before you hire his equipment.

who pays for mobilization?
who pays the operator?
Who pays for Diesel?

How many hours does the equipment work per day?

How much diesel per day does a particular equipment take?

Once this details are confirmed you as the leasee it gives you the full information you need to make your calculations and ground work.

Good luck in your projects and always lease the best performing equipments to give you efficiency and Return on Investment of your project.
