Should College Of Education Be The Last Bus Stop For Nigerian Students? by Folksyharry(m): 10:53pm On Aug 22, 2013
Why has college of Education been made to look like the last bus stop for Nigerian students. Even before the recent Edo state school teachers issue, I have always thought the solution to our Education system should be addressed beginning from where the teachers are made.
It doesn't make sense that the institution that trains people that will become teachers has the lowest cut-off mark. How do you expect any good to come out of teachers and our primary and secondary schools when the presumed less intelligent students are being sent there.
Please I want your view on how you feel quality teachers can be made from our Colleges of Education.

It is in Nigeria that people look down on education as a course of study. In Europe, at least part of the continent where I live, education is a hot course. I regretted not taking the BEd admission I was offered in OAU before going for Law. If I were a teacher, I would fare well in Europe than if I were a Lawyer trained in Nigeria...
