How Much Is Enough by StPete: 2:30am On Sep 04, 2013 |
Good day all, I'd like to get ur candid views about how much should be reasonable enough to give as monthly allowance to a working mother and her little kid irrespective of what you do or how much u may earn. Just something reasonable and sizable…your thoughts pls |

i believe in a needs based assessment - sit down with madam - map your both your incomes (sources). this is important because some wives dont really know how much their man earns hence the tendency to seem 'unreasonable'. - map out your household expenses and intended capital expenditures (house project, car, rent, travel, education, savings and investment) - then you will know how much to give her. this way it will be a collaborative effort rather than one of no inclusion it is well nowadays its a joint effort rather than solo 1 Like |

Subtract your expenditures from the income, then you decide what to give based on what is left. She should be in the picture of both the income and expenditures... |

My Lady and I pool our incomes together then spend as the family needs. Since our funds are pooled, luxuries are only purchased upon mutual agreement. I love my wife and I want to see her happy so I try to give her the good life within our means. She loves me and is a wonderful woman and so does not uneccesarily spend our mutual funds. I have enjoyed peace and financial progress in my family living this way. The only draw back being that it is difficult to surprise her. |

The issue of pooling resources together cannot really work out here as I and the said lady do not live together based on some factors including different locatIons of workplace. However, I don't want to be too rigid with the monthly allowance nor extravagant with it as I also have personal expenses to cater for. Plus, I've never demanded anything from her with regards to what she earns. I just wanna do the right thing or probably, strike a good balance. Once again, thank you all for your wonderful contributions. They are noted and appreciated |

I am a BREAD-WINNER. . .AND SO IS MY HUSBAND! Not applicable. I DON'T BELIEVE IN JOINT ACCOUNTS. We only have SEPARATE FINANCIAL RESPONSIBLILITIES ACCORDING TO EACH PERSON'S PAYCHECK! I make more. . .I PAY MORE. Simple! |
