Let work this example (1) Jude plc holds 300,000 ordinary shares in Eith ltd which it acquired many yrs ago when d p&l account of d Company stood at #4.18m . D share capital of Edith them was 400,000 ordinary shares & has remained d same ,since dt date. Edith ltd acquired 80 % of d 500,000 ordinary shares of Eucharia ltd later when d bal in dt Company 's p&l was #4.8m . Div .ordinary shares proposed : Jude 400, Edith 320 , Eucharia 240. Transfer to reserves : Jude 2,400 , Edith 1,200 Eucharia 800 . Retained profit brought forward : Jude 9,230 ,Edith 7,200, Eucharia 6,400 . Profit on ordinary actv after tax (Group): jude 9,970, Edith 7,500 , Eucharia 5,080 . Required : prepare group Minority Interest , transfer to Reserve & retained profit brought forward . Good luck. |
