Bossforeva: sure it counts.. National products are classy . . the last forever. But I hate old scruffy looking kitchen equipment, when there are newer flashier models all around. Which is why I was glad when I got a Masterchef blender for a wedding present . . . didn't last 3 months and the motor became chaffed. I had to go back to my old and abandoned Phillips. I'm scared of buying a new one, even dou I hate it! *squeezes face* |

One small pot I used when I was in secondary school. Don't know why I'm so attached to that pot. I just don't want it to spoil. |

My cooking pots: bought them 8 yrs ago and they are still very new. Scrub them front and back but i'm really tired of scrubbing. Would get a set of non-stick pots by January. My blender has also lasted for 7yrs and its still in his follow come carton. Yea, i put it right back there after usage. My cooking spoon is also 8yrs old. |

Interesting thread................... Have one flask with me, given to me by my mum when I got married, that flask was used for me when I was born and as a baby. I'm still enjoying it today. The pot my mum used to prepare "obe iyawo" for me on the eve of my wedding day, almost 9 years ago is still useful till today. My mortar and pestle, as well as wooden spoon and turning stick, with some dozens of plate that were part of my "eru iyawo" are all still in mykitchen. My stove, I've been using it before I got married, still useful. My gas cooker, bought in 2006, still there. My philip's blender I bought in year 1999, still in my kitchen, though, I've not been really using it these days because I have some other new ones around, but anytime, there is a f*ck up, I quickly carry my philip's blender out and it has never disappointed me. One of our fridges, my hubby bought it before we got married, still in the kitchen and very useful till today. @op, where is my award |

^^ Actually, come to think of it, nothing beats our great-grandmother's grinding stone. Those things must have been designed to last for eternity and the maintenance is low cost / negligible. Jide 'n , I sure say una get them plenty for house |

Thermo flask, don't know if it was bought before I was born or when I was a kid. But it should be more than 24 or 25 years old. |
