It was earlier reported that Nokia was getting frustrated by lack of Windows 8 mobile operating system to rival Android and become a major player in the OS world. Nokia accounts for more than 80 percent of Windows Phone handsets sold and that is worrisome for both Nokia and Microsoft. Figures from the Android camp shows even percentages as all mobile vendors have embraced the open source Android operating system for mobile devices.

Bits reports that Nokia was working on Android smarphones as a plan B measure to reverse the company’s declining status in smartphone market-share. This singular act proved to be the reason why Microsoft intensified an already terminated plan to acquire Nokia.
