it was an extensively long wait for android and iOS users on this 21 day of September 2013 as they awaited with great expectancy the official release of the BBM platform for their use.
many android and iOS users kept on the lookout in what was called "the BBM vigil". the wait even got more interesting on Nairaland, Nigeria's foremost social forum where members thronged-in to join in the "vigil".
At first many thought it was a farce. Others just couldn't give up the idea of "pinging" on their android devices. the wait got even more interesting when a debate arose in the house of the actual time of the release. some said 12, others said 1pm.
At about 1pm, flashes of news started filtering in of the release of the BBM platform. this continued coming in from one person to another. many were still expressing their disbelief online. soon thereafter, screenshot pictures came in from persons who have successfully registered and activated theirs. although some complained of not being able to register, successful members shared links of sites where registration can be done. this aided many others to complete their own registration.
Now the big question that arises from new development is...... is this generalised access to the BBM platform going to result in some sort of anger and aggression against android users, especially now that the element that makes blackberry tick have been cracked?
my fellow good members of Nairaland, what is your take on this matter?
