Jalal:

Liberty city is GTA 3, San Andreas is GTA 4, will go get GTA V dis weekend!! grin grin grin

you are a bit wrong
liberty city, vice city and sanandreas they are under the series of GTA 3
liberty city stories and vice city stories(not on pc), the ballad of gay tony, the lost and damned, china town wars are all under the series GTA 4(Note :there is also gta 4 on its own under this series)
while GTA 5 is the newest under there 5 series....I think GTA 5 is the sixteenth GTA rockstar have produced on pc and the playstation platform...google it to check if i'm right wink

back to the topic...it does not in this part of our country...that is why when u by the game...they put M at the pack(which means matured content), if you are not matured enough don't play it.or else you will scatter your head

For an adult that has gone through all the formative years, games don't have any psychological effect. But for kids, it sure does!

Remember as children, we sometimes tried to 'act' the violent movies, the mortal kombat games we played. My friend once gave me a bad jab back then.

Little by little, these experiments of game life takes on a life of its own on the kid.

If you got kids, don't allow them play such games. They won't see it the way you do as an adult!

9ineGames: Grand theft auto is an open world, action-adventure, role playing, crime game developed and published by rockstar games. Gta was first released in October 1997 and the latest is Gta V (released 17th September 2013).

The gameplay focuses on an open world where the player can choose missions to progress on an overall story, as well as engaging in side activities, all consisting of action-adventure, driving, third-person shooting, role playing, stealth and racing elements.

Though the subject of the game is usually a comedic satire of American culture (according to Wikipedia) but it's entire series has gained controversy for its adult nature and violent themes.

According to Cheryl Olson, a health specialist at Harvard, 28 percent of boys and 5 percent of girls strongly agree that liking guns and other weapons motivates their gameplay. A video in youtube stated that Gta V is supporting or supports violence against women and encourages racism. Alot has been said about this game and its genre. These game involves car chase, robbery, snatching, snitching, stealing, pole dancing, violent themes, explicit languages, realistic blood splatter on camera lens, urban dystopia of gunfights. Now am not going to sound like Jack Thompson or foster these games.

Does this game promote aggression and influence children? The topic is a question, what do you say?

Irises: who cares if it promote violence. afterall the fault is from the person playing it. if you think it will make you act violently, then quit the game. if you think it does not affect you, then play it. the game was not built to cause voilent, it depends on the players. thats all
confirm l love dat.

One thing were all forgetting though is that there is the ESRB that rates the level of maturity for a player to play a game. I remember when I was 11 I couldn't buy a bounty hunter game on ps2 cause it was rated AO (adults only). On the other hand people are considered adults at 18 in most societies for a reason cause it is assumed from this age people know the difference between good or evil so considering the age rating GTA 5 is aimed at (btw its written at the lower left corner of the box) it solely depends on the individual . Now the problem here lies in younger gamers since the gaming industry is not controlled by by the government, there is no total control over what gets to younger audiences except adult intervention so as far as I'm concerned GTA isn't the problem its simply a case of cultivation
