When you are at a stop, idling, gridlock, slow speed traffic or normal city driving, it is advisable you turn off your Air conditioning system in your car and wind your windows down to cut down on fuel consumption.

However, when on high speed or travelling on a highway, it is advisable you wind up all windows, and turn on your car Air conditioning system to reduce drag, air turbulence, and dangerous crosswinds effects and also reduce the rate fuel your car consume.

As good as it were, how realistically safe, secure and healthy it is to wind down car windows in our environment during traffic gridlock with beggars, touts, and opportunistic security and traffic agents milling around.
Fuel must be a trade off in such circumstances in naija.

Op asked a question and he answered his question.

Yes, running AC in the city will consume more fuel, unlike the highway. Whether reducing fuel consumption by lowering windows in traffic is worth it or not, it's a different matter all together. After all, I don't lower my windows, whether in traffic, city, highway, hot or cold weather. It's a personal choice.
