Many people today lie because they want to be known and accepted in society, among their peers/colleagues. An adage says " Lying because of prestige brings shame. " paraphrased: The prestige may come but just for a brief moment; but shame then follows. Many people lie because they see it as a diplomatic way of saving oneself. Alas! It leads to doom.
