People ask why I don't write love poems
Or read touchy books
Or bask in the euphoria of romance,
I tell them..
The reason is not far from view..
Love is one bitter stew
Cooked by a confused crew
Sitting in pews,
Imagining things, not neccesarily true..
Stories date from time immemorial,
Of great men.
Struck by the mythical cupids arrow
And led to the guillotine,
By those they claim to adore
From samson, dismembered by delilahs kiss
To solomon , dethroned by shebas charms..
In delusion, these men of vision
Failed their mission
Maybe its anger I spew
But I tell you, I do have a clue
Having dated quite a few
And more than once, been screwed
I swear, this story is true..
In my long journey, through the sahara,
Across the atlantic
And back from where I began
I have only met one lady,
Mild and warm, who has been good
Being faithfull through and through,
Watching my back when I turn,
As opposed to the frequent stabs
At my enemies, she takes a jab.
One woman, strong and rough..
The only true love I know..
The one I call my MOM..
