TOEFL & GRE Examinations Suspended Indefinitely In Nigeria by Blogking(f): 7:27am On Nov 10, 2013
Education Testing Services, ETS, has suspended both the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) and Graduate Record Examinations (GRE) in Nigeria “due to security concerns.”
ETS is the world’s largest private nonprofit educational testing and assessment organization. It conducts examinations in almost all the countries of the world.
In a terse statement dated November 7, published on its website, ETS broke the news that both examinations have been suspended indefinitely in Nigeria.
The statement reads:

“Due to security concerns in Nigeria, GRE® and TOEFL® testing in the country has been suspended for an indefinite period. Candidates who have appointments to take the TOEFL or GRE Tests will be contacted by ETS to process a refund.”
The organisation did not say the specific security threats it has come under. But the organisation may be acting proactively in the face of repeated attacks of educational institutions by suspected members of the radical Islamic sect, Boko Haram.
The GRE is a standardized test that is required for admission for graduate (Post-graduate) courses in the United States and business programmes, especially Master in Business Administration (MBA) worldwide.
The TOEFL is a test meant to test the English Language proficiency of non-native English language speakers wishing to enroll in United States universities and other English speaking universities and courses around the world.
As a result of this rather abrupt development, Nigerian students planning to write these qualifying examinations into colleges and universities abroad will be wise to start seeking alternatives.

My ambitious Naijas, let us understand that Education Testing Services (ETS) only suspended not stopped testing in Nigeria (for the reason given which can obviously be interpreted to bad examination supervision ethics in the two testing centers for GRE and many others for TOEFL or moral bridge in download of the actual tests by the Nigerian exam's administrator in the centers). However, the good news is that Nigerians can still do the test abroad till we put our house in order.

Meanwhile, you can join other Nigerians to sign the petition on http://chn.ge/1gwukfs but pending when our signed petition will be given attention and possible consideration, since deadlines are closed, an alternative measure is to test abroad. So, if you are still interested in Registering and Testing your GRE or TOEFL in Ghana or any other Neighboring countries of Nigeria at affordable registration fee call 07086833330 or 08174724261. They helped me registered mine last year in WAEC office in Accra when an agent in Nigeria messed me up.

My 'Naija-rians' Suspension of Testing in Nigeria cannot stop us so let us utilize this available opportunity now as testing spaces are limited and admission deadlines are close. Available testing dates are:
