Nigeria’s Falconets on Saturday in far away Freetown, Sierra Leone defeated the side opponents 6-0 in the 2013 Fifa Women’s World Cup qualifying matches.
Falconets penultimate Saturday at the Abuja National Stadium pummeled the same side 10-0 in the first fixture in the race for a place at next year’s global football showpiece in Canada.
The Nigerian side score three goals in each half to advance to the next stage of the qualifiers on 16 goals aggregate.
The coach Peter Dedevbo tutored side will wait for the outcome of the encounter between the two North African sides, Morocco and Tunisia to know the side they will confront in next stage of the qualification matches.
An official of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Ademola Olajire said the side are gradually etching their foot strongly towards qualifying for the biennial football fiesta in Canada next year.
“Of course, Falcons won 6-0 in Freetown against their Sierra Leonean opponents to make it an aggregate victory of 16-0 which is massive and testament that they side will sure qualify for the World Cup proper irrespective of the sides they meet in the next stages of the qualifying series.
“We’re happy with the series of victories our national teams are recording against their various opponents.
“Falconets won’t rest on their oars until the ticket is won and head to the mundial to further make Nigerians proud.
“We’re happy with the result and wish to congratulate the side for excellent performance,” Olajire said to supersport.com.
