STRIKE UPDATES: Union Leaders Already Converging In Kano To Formalise Strike Cal by Nobody: 1:19am On Nov 13, 2013
Having concluded ASUU branches congress in various universities, where the majority of the branches have voted to call a quit to the lingering industrial action by Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU for the past four months; report from an impeccable source who pleaded anonymity revealed that the leadership of Academic Staff Union of Universities are already converging in a yet to disclose venue in Kano State, where the union will eventually take the final decision to end the strike action that has paralysed academic activities in public universities.
The union is scheduled to hold National congress where final decision will be taken to end the strike. Our source revealed that the union will definitely call off the strike as majority of ASUU branches have voted in favour of the strike to be called off despite some branches who are opposed to the end of the strike. He further stated that the strike is as good as being called off, as the national congress in Kano is just to formalise the process.
In further affirmation of of Kano venue of ASUU congress, a former ASUU President, Mr. Festus Iyayi enroute to ASUU national congress in Kano was involved in a ghastly auto-accident and died instantly when Kogi State Governor’s convoy rammed to him according to UK base media, Sahara reporters.
May his soul rest in peace.

na the person wey die, na e own hang. Just a minute silence is the honour for him!

Why just flying around just to call off the strike?
Met with the president in Abuja, dispersed to their various schools, converging again in Kano to announce result like inec!

The devil behind the strike is definitely working for the strike to end in january!

Some people just don't want the strike to be called off. Not just the lecturers, but some of the students. Anyway, let's see what the outcome of all these marathon meetings would be.

Let's look at the issue this way, if the NEC meeting has been postponed what happens to the ASUU NEC members who are already in Kano for the meeting? Do we honestly think they'll just abandon the meeting and risk going back and then reconvene again with the fresh knowledge and fear of their member's accidental death?
I'm very sure that what should be on their minds now is that the strike should just be called off so they can go back to their different duty posts in peace.
