Nike: Hugo Lloris

Two very good goalkeepers going
head to head, Neuer was obviously
part of the most successful team in
Europe last season while Lloris has
excelled since moving to Tottenham. Little to pick between these two, but
Lloris may just edge it in terms of
having another dimension to his
game. Winner

Nike: Thiago Silva, Ashley Cole, Braislav Ivanovic, Gerard Pique

Adidas: Philipp Lahm, Jordi Alba, Mats Hummels, Gary Cahill

Nike's defence has a nice balance to it,
and while Invanovic is often solid
rather than spectacular, they look
particularly strong at centre-back with
Silva and Pique. Adidas are incredibly strong at full-
back and can also call upon Dani
Alves, who switched from Nike a few
years back. Gary Cahill is capable, but not quite up
to the level of those around him. Winners:

Nike: Pirlo, Busquets, Ronaldo, Iniesta, Ribery

Adidas: Schweinsteiger, Xavi, Messi, Ozil, Bale

Now this is a battle. Both midfields are
packed with quality and goals, and
look well balanced in protecting the
back four and going forward. Schweinsteiger alongside Xavi is a nice
balance although neither is a genuine
enforcer like Busquets for Team Nike,
while there is a cigarette paper
between the respective attacking
midfielders.

Nike: Lewandowski

Adidas: Van Persie

Another close call. Both strikers have
been in sensational form over the past
two seasons. Lewandowski helped his
side to the Champions League final last
season while Van Persie guided
Manchester United to the Premier League title. However Van Persie has been top
scorer in the Premier League for the
last two seasons in a row, and looks
capable of repeating that again this
campaign.

Well that was pretty one-sided wasn't it? Adidas certainly have a greater quantity of professional footballers signed up while it seems as though Nike have focused on snaring the best of the best. In truth, plenty of decisions could
have gone either way so it's over to
