Hello All,

Am about to get a car and i have the option of choosing either a tokunbo used Honda accord 2011 @ N2.8m or a brand new kia rio 2013 @ N2.754

Need your input to decide. fuel economy, servicing, parts, etc. am also looking at long term state of the cars, say after 2 years.

If i were u, i would go for the Brand New Kia Rio. Warranty wise,maintenance wise and management wise.

Morning guy if you a brand new car is good. Reason is you have peace of mind. No reason to visit mech only on routine service and if you don't have accident.
Kia product don't have second hand value.

A tok Honda if you are sure of the sourse and u do ur findings right before you buy the car it would serve u for that period of time. And if its well used and maintain when u want to sell it you can sell at a good rate compare to a kia Rio.

Mr op, It's most likely that you have made your decision but just in case you haven't, here's what I think: if you don't really crave the brand new car smell, and/or, you might wanna resell your car after 2/3 years, then let the Rio go. Kia never has the second hand value of a Toyota or Honda. Even benz doesn't. *sorry to say*
And maintenance wise, the Honda still wins, kia's spare parts are ridiculously expensive, plug holders, lamps, etc. And not to talk of the fact that body quality of Honda is also superior to that of rio. The only area Kia wins is in fuel economy. And it's because the engine is less powerful sef.
Then lastly, u wanna sell these 2cars after 3 years, the Honda will get better offer than the Rio. But be careful and know this about Honda Accords, their ball joints may pop out anytime, anywhere, I mean ANYWHERE. This is one point definitely worth knowing about Honda accords and the ONLY reason I personally run from them.
All these I have said about Rio n Honda sha, but then again, if I were you, i'll go for a Corolla or Camry. Corolla....so easy to maintain! Camry is just the big brother...so a tiny bit harder to maintain. you will never go wrong.
